Is the WhisperKOOL Slimline LS the Right Cooling Unit for Your Wine Cellar?
The WhisperKOOL Slimline LS is a self-contained, through-the-wall wine cellar cooling unit designed for small, fully insulated wine rooms up to 650 cubic feet on low fan speed and up to 1,000 cubic feet on medium fan speed (conditions apply).
It is the direct replacement for the discontinued Slimline 2500 and Slimline 3300 models and is engineered to fit in the narrow space above a cellar doorway.
This unit is best suited for residential wine rooms where ducting is not required and condenser intake air remains controlled.
Who This Unit Is For
The Slimline LS is appropriate if:
Your cellar is fully insulated and sealed with a proper vapor barrier
The room has completed heat load calculations
You need a through-the-wall (self-contained) installation
You are replacing a Slimline 2500 or 3300
Condenser intake air will remain at or below 85°F during normal operation
The cellar does not exceed 1,000 cubic feet under real-world conditions
Who This Unit Is Not For
The Slimline LS is not recommended if:
The room has extensive glass without insulation upgrades
The space exceeds 1,000 cubic feet with stone, concrete, or high thermal load
The installation is in an unconditioned garage or outdoor structure
A ducted or remote condenser configuration is required
Improper installation conditions may result in temperature instability, excessive runtime, and premature compressor wear.
Performance Overview
The Slimline LS uses a smart ECM condenser fan and centrifugal blower system to improve airflow efficiency and reduce vibration compared to earlier Slimline models.
It is engineered to maintain a 55°F cellar temperature when condenser intake air remains at or below 85°F.
Cooling capacity declines as intake temperatures rise above that threshold.

The WhisperKOOL Slimline LS is a space-efficient solution for small, enclosed residential wine cellars where through-the-wall installation is preferred and environmental conditions remain controlled.
If your cellar includes glass walls, high ambient temperatures, or uncertain insulation quality, a higher-capacity or ducted cooling system should be evaluated.
Does the job. A little louder than we were expecting, and the previous cooling unit we had but it had been discontinued. The last unit we had lasted around 15 years and hopefully this one will to.
The only improvement I could see them making other than making it quieter is possible making a custom fit bezel to go around it to hide the mounting ears and gaps between the unit and the wall. Our previous one had one that made a nice, finish install!
