Who This System Is For

Choose the Platinum Split 8000 OMEGA if:

• Your cellar is 1,200–1,750 cu. ft.
• You have R-19+ wall insulation and R-30+ ceiling insulation
• A vapor barrier is installed on the warm side
• The door is fully sealed
• You want compressor noise outside the cellar
• You are working with a licensed HVAC-R technician

When This System Is NOT Appropriate

Do not select this unit if:

• The cellar exceeds 1,750 cu. ft.
• The room shares air with living space
• No vapor barrier is installed
• Insulation is below recommended standards
• You intend to self-install
• The condenser location lacks ventilation

Improper construction or installation will reduce cooling performance and void the warranty.

How a Ductless Split Wine Cooling System Works

The system uses two primary components:

Evaporator (Installed Inside the Cellar)

• Pulls warm cellar air across cooling coils
• Removes heat using refrigerant
• Returns conditioned air evenly
• Uses a liquid-temperature bottle probe for precise aging control

Condensing Unit (Installed Remotely)

• Releases heat outside the cellar
• Can be installed in a garage, attic, mechanical room, or outdoors (with proper ventilation)
• Connected by refrigerant line set

Separating these components keeps compressor noise out of the cellar and improves acoustic comfort.

Why Capacity Changes

Cooling capacity decreases as condenser intake temperature increases.
If your condenser is installed in a hot garage or attic, effective cooling output is reduced.

Always size based on worst-case ambient conditions.

Maximum Operating Condition

The system can maintain a 55°F cellar temperature with condenser air intake temperatures up to 120°F, provided cellar insulation and sealing meet specifications.

Required Cellar Construction Standards

To achieve rated performance:

• Minimum R-19 wall insulation
• Minimum R-30 ceiling insulation
• 6-mil vapor barrier on warm side
• Airtight door seal
• No HVAC air infiltration
• No open floor plan exposure

Without these standards, system performance will decline.

Electrical Requirements

• Evaporator: 120V (15-amp dedicated circuit required)
• Condenser: 120V (separate dedicated circuit recommended)

Compressor: LRA 9.5

Electrical work should be performed by a licensed electrician. Improper breaker sizing may cause nuisance trips.

Refrigerant & Line Set Requirements

• Refrigerant: R-134a
• Liquid Line: 1/4" OD
• Suction Line:
  • 1/2" (less than 50 ft.)
  • 5/8" (greater than 50 ft.)
• Maximum line length: 100 ft.

Improper line sizing or charging will reduce efficiency and system lifespan.

Installation Requirements (Professional Installation Mandatory)

This system:

• Is not pre-charged
• Requires refrigerant handling
• Must be vacuumed and pressure tested
• Must be properly charged
• Requires flare fittings
• Requires condensate drain routing

Installation by a licensed HVAC-R technician is required.

Failure to comply voids warranty coverage.
