Which WhisperKOOL Series Should You Choose?
Choose a WhisperKOOL self-contained unit (SC PRO, Slimline or Extreme) when you want one cabinet through the wall, and a WhisperKOOL split system (Platinum Split, Ceiling Mount, Blow-Through or Quantum) when the cellar must stay quiet or the heat has to go outdoors. Within each family, pick the model by the cellar size WhisperKOOL publishes for it and by where the warm air can go.

In short: SC PRO is the interior-venting through-the-wall workhorse for cellars up to about 2,000 cu. ft. Extreme handles hot exhaust spaces up to 110°F. Platinum Split and Ceiling Mount move the compressor away from the cellar. Quantum covers the largest rooms. Split systems must be installed by a licensed HVAC/R technician, and the model number is not the capacity, so always read the cellar size on the spec sheet.
Self-Contained or Split: How the WhisperKOOL Lineup Is Organized
Every WhisperKOOL cellar unit belongs to one of two families. A self-contained unit keeps the compressor, condenser and evaporator in one cabinet that mounts through the cellar wall. A split system puts the evaporator in or near the cellar and the condensing unit somewhere else, connected by a refrigerant line set.

WhisperKOOL Self-Contained Series: SC PRO, Slimline and Extreme
SC PRO
WhisperKOOL lists the SC PRO as a "through-the-wall, partially ducted" unit whose exhaust air can be ducted with the optional ducting kit. The spec sheet rates the 2000, 3000, 4000 and 8000 for cellars of 300, 650, 1,000 and 2,000 cu. ft. WhisperKOOL says the condenser intake should not exceed 85°F to hold a 55°F cellar, which is why it calls interior installation ideal for the SC PRO. See the SC PRO models in our catalog.
Slimline and Slimline LS
WhisperKOOL describes the Slimline as its "quietest interior-venting self-contained unit", designed to fit the often unused space between the cellar door and the ceiling. The Slimline LS adds centrifugal blowers that WhisperKOOL says are significantly quieter and can run at medium or low speed. WhisperKOOL's own documents list different cellar sizes for these units, so check the spec sheet for your exact model with WhisperKOOL before you size one.
Extreme ti and tiR
The Extreme fits between standard wall studs and, per WhisperKOOL, can be mounted through an exterior wall and run with up to 110°F condenser air intake. The 3500, 5000 and 8000 are rated for about 800, 1,250 and 2,000 cu. ft. The tiR moves the controller to a remote panel up to 50 line feet away, and the fully ducted tiR can sit up to 25 duct feet from the cellar for a very quiet room. WhisperKOOL Split Systems: Platinum Split, Ceiling Mount, Blow-Through and Quantum
Split systems keep the compressor out of the cellar. WhisperKOOL states that its condensing units can be installed up to 100 line feet from the evaporator, and that split systems must be installed by a qualified, licensed HVAC/R technician or the warranty is void.

Platinum Split. The evaporator mounts in the cellar and the condenser goes elsewhere. The fully ducted version lets the evaporator sit up to 25 duct feet from the room. See the Platinum Split systems.
Ceiling Mount. WhisperKOOL says this evaporator draws in the warmer air that collects at the ceiling and keeps the walls free for racking. Its 2-speed fan switch can lower noise by up to 7 dB. Browse the WhisperKOOL ceiling mount systems.
Quantum. WhisperKOOL calls the Quantum its most advanced system, designed for outdoor condensers in climates as cold as minus 15°F, with a mandatory secondary drain pan. OMEGA 110V condensing unit
The OMEGA is a condensing unit only, paired with a WhisperKOOL split evaporator such as the Ceiling Mount or Blow-Through. It runs on a dedicated 115V circuit, WhisperKOOL says not to use a GFI line, and it is typically installed outside in a protective housing. See the OMEGA 110V systems.

The WhisperKOOL 2500 Cabinet Unit Is a Replacement Part
The 2500 is WhisperKOOL's wine cabinet cooling unit. WhisperKOOL says it can replace its 1000, 1100, 1200 and 2300 cabinet units without modification, and it is only sold to replace an existing WhisperKOOL cabinet system inside a Vinotheque cabinet. It is not a unit for a walk-in cellar.
A WhisperKOOL Model Number Is Not Its Capacity
The number in a WhisperKOOL model name does not equal its BTU output or its cellar size. The table shows the rated BTU/h that WhisperKOOL publishes at an 85°F condenser intake.

WhisperKOOL Warranty by Family
- Self-contained units (SC PRO, Slimline, Slimline LS, Extreme ti and tiR): a two-year limited warranty on parts and labor plus a five-year limited warranty on the compressor only. WhisperKOOL states the compressor labor and freight are the end user's responsibility and the warranty is valid only in the continental United States.
- Split systems (Platinum Split, Ceiling Mount, Quantum, Blow-Through): a two-year limited warranty on parts and labor, with up to one additional year once WhisperKOOL approves the installer's startup checklist. The certified technician must complete and return that checklist.
